Mar 2019 Music Student of the Month – Lillian Hodges

6th grader Lillian is in tuned with how music can change her mood.  This girl loves listening to hip-hop but she’s just as serious about learning to play the violin at school.

“I like the harmonies. I like how it’s peaceful.  It makes me feel calm.”

Orcas Middle School Strings member Lillian Hodges

Strings Director Pamela Wright noted her progress and is excited at the possibility that playing the violin will take Lillian places she never dreamed of.  That’s awesome, Lillian.  We’re so proud to have you as our March Music Student of the Month!

The Music Student of the Month series recognizes Orcas Island Public School musicians who work hard at their musical skills and whose love of music is an inspiration to their fellow student musicians.  Thank you so much to the Orcas Island businesses who are sponsoring this monthly series throughout the 2018-19 school year that recognizes the efforts of student musicians and the value of school music!
