Music Instruments Needed: Can You Help?

Dear Music Advocacy Group friends,

Please consider supporting school music education this holiday season in the GiveOrcas Holiday catalog from December 1-15.

Orcas Island Public School’s Music Department has needed a full, working set of timpani (4 drums) for many years. Students are currently using an older, partial set of 2 timpani that do not have gauges, which are used to tune each drum. It is nearly impossible for student percussionists to change pitch mid-song when the rest of the group is playing.

We may be a small school district, but our hardworking high school and 5th to 8th grade musicians are award-winning! Your gift towards this essential instrument will complete the percussion section, so that Orcas Island kids can learn and perform at the same level as other music students in our state. And, school concerts are OPEN to the community to enjoy!
