JOIN IN THE FUN! Orcas Island Booster Club will host the Homecoming Celebration on the Village Green tomorrow, Friday, October 23, right after the Homecoming Parade! The High School Marching Band will lead a parade of class floats from the school to the green at 3:30 PM. MUSICAL TREAT AT THE PUBLIC SCHOOL & FREE CONCERT AT ORCAS CENTER Here at Orcas Public School, students begin learning to play an instrument in school from 4th grade and can continue through 12th grade. Most instruments are provided by the school for a small rental fee, keeping music education accessible for local families. Maintenance, repair and replacement of musical instruments and equipment cost thousands of dollars annually, and Music Advocacy Group works closely with the district and music teachers to identify needs and help fund the gaps. We have been able to do this work for almost 30 years with the support of a music-loving island community. THANK YOU. Our work continues with your help. School Music Matters! Instrument Gym begins THIS Wednesday. Register at OI Parks and Rec. It's free! Starts October 7, 2:20-3:20 PM. “I'm so eager to build on the wonderful musical traditions here and help students of all ages discover confidence and joy through music." Sarah Dorian Save these dates! Orcas High School Band & Strings are rehearsing for their first public performances of Fall semester, and we are excited to hear them play.
