October 2025 Music Student of the Month – Solomon Ross

Solomon Ross is at the edge of his seat, cello in arms, eager to express his passion for his instrument. “I’ve grown attached to this instrument. I bring it home and practice almost every day of the week to wind down and relax.

“Music is definitely my favorite subject in school,” Solomon says.

“Now I’m the oldest cello player in strings so l’ve had to be a leader and I’ve gotten so much better just this year.” Stepping up to fill the role, Solomon was also chosen by strings instructor Pamela Wright as this month’s Music Student of the Month. In her words, “Solomon has really progressed in his playing the last year! I am looking forward to his leadership in the classroom.” Solomon appreciates the tight bonds that have formed between all the orchestra members as they practice and perform together. His outside music interests include alternative hip hop, which he says weave a lot of nice strings and band instruments into the melodies.

“But my favorite piece at the moment is Last Christmas,” Solomon says, “which I’m excited to play for the community this winter!”

Congratulations to Solomon Ross, October 2025 Music Student of the Month!
