Orcas Island life is filled with inspiring musical programming this summer—what a treat for student musicians to be immersed in this!
As a soon-to-be senior, Forest reflects that ‘high school is a really good time of life to learn an instrument’. This year, he has traveled to Pacific Lutheran University for a band festival and as far as California to play music on-stage at Disneyland. He has also enjoyed monthly jazz instruction in school, thanks to local music educator, Oliver Groenewald, who sponsored access for Orcas student musicians on the online jazz education platform, Jazzeveryone. Have a great summer, Forest! We look forward to hearing more wonderful music in the Fall!
